Little man is 9 weeks today! I can't believe we have all made it this far. What else are we going to do right? Since the last post he has been improving everyday. We had another doctor appointment and she put me on an elimination diet. We knew for sure dairy was a no no, but wanted to figure out if something else was causing a reaction. So for a week I could not eat dairy, wheat, soy, or nuts. That means I could eat fruits, veggies, chicken, and rice! Oh, I forgot about coconut milk (barf!) It was actually really good for my health. I could not have any convenience foods or fast food and was forced to eat healthy three meals a day.
After a week I a added nuts and after a few more days I added wheat. I went straight for the junky stuff that day. We also have been praying daily over his belly asking Jesus to heal him. I know he is listening and answering our prayers. The doctor perscribed probioties that he takes once a day and that has helped so so much.
I feel like a first time mom in alot of ways. I don't and can't do alot of things that I did with my other two boys. I had both the boys on a flexable sceduale of nursing maybe every 2-3 hours at this age. I knew when they had to eat again so I could do things when they would be content. I have started to feed this little guy on demand so his belly is never too full or too empty, so sometimes he only goes an hour or so between feeding. He seems to do better that way. I talked to a friend that also demand feeds and she said that is about normal. I am so happy he is the only baby that I had to feed like this because it really is draining.
There are days that I am so thankful that he is quite and happy. He really is the nicest little guy and it breaks my heart to know he is in pain. He is smiling and happy most of the time now and I am amazed. He will lay on the bed and watch the fan or sit in his boucny chair while I am chasing these wild animals around the house. I can't wait until he is fully better and can play with us too!
